The Einstein, Podolsky, and Rosen Paradox: In Atomic, Nuclear, and Particle Physics
Published in Hardcover by Plenum Pub Corp (December, 1999)
Author: Alexander Afriat
Average review score:

On the existence of objective physical reality
In 1935 Eistein, Podolsky and Rosen put on the table the question about the ability of Quantum Mechanics in describing physical reality. Since their paper several physicists tried to discuss and address this foundamental problem. The book by Selleri and Afriat is an exaustive analysis focusing on EPR paradox in several research fields of the physics. The book, starting from the original argument of EPR (chapter 1) goes down to all the proposed solutions for EPR paradox (chapter 5). Though, according to EPR arguments, Quantum Mechanics cannot be considered "complete" in describing the Physical Reality, this book can be surely considered "complete" in discussing the EPR paradox and its implications in modern physics.

Average review score:

Wonderful - An Instant Classic!
A fantastic overview of the principles of layout and how to understand space and "the page", with special concern for the issue of functional white space and learning how to activate it, sculpt it, and not waste it. In a milieu of visual clutter, this gift to the design world (if its message is taken to heart) will help restore order and readability in the communications that surround us.

One of the best cyberpunk comics ever
and considering the number of cyberpunk comics out there, one might not think that's not much of an achievement but Alexander's writing and graphics manage to bring a fresh take on what could have been a load of moribund cliches.

Excellent Book
This is an excellent book, and combines depth of theory with many practical applications of the presented ideas. The chapters dealing with robotics and image processing applications are very illustrative of the presented ideas. I wished there were more books like this in other areas.

Enos Mills: Citizen of Nature
Published in Hardcover by University Press of Colorado (December, 1995)
Author: Alexander A. Drummond
Average review score:

A fascinating piece of scholarship
This ranks among the best biographies I have read. Drummond's research is expansive and he synthesizes it all into a very readable, interesting book. He chronicles politics surrounding the formation of the Park Servie and the Forest Service, paints a fascinating picture of early day tourism, and tells the gripping story of an ardent, if sometimes misguided, naturalist. My interest is spurred---I'm going to read some of the books Drummond lists in his extensive biography.
